Alexander lauds Tipton impact
Tipton, in his third spell with the club, opened the scoring with a spectacular strike after six minutes and Hamza Bencherif added a second.
Alexander said: "That's why we brought Tipton back to the club. We all know what he can do and he's produced early in the season.
"It's the first time I've had an opportunity to play Hamza Bencherif in midfield and he certainly looks like he's going to be a player for us."
He added: "It was great to bounce back after such a disappointing performance against Notts County, just the response I was looking for and we'll go into the game at Crewe with much more confidence."
