Shane Cansdell-Sherriff's own goal set the ball rolling before Gareth Evans added a second from the penalty spot and substitute Nat Brown fired home a third in injury time. Alexander said: "I'm delighted with the performance. "The players have shown great character to come back from their defeat in midweek, in particular John Brain who made a mistake on Wednesday but produced a magnificent display. I'm thankful that the fans voted him man of the match, that was a really nice touch. "We're building a young team. I'm disappointed that we're not there in the league at the moment, but particularly against the better sides in the league and in the cup we've shown just what we can do and we're a side that is getting better all time."
