Bury's top scorer Andy Bishop opened the scoring after just four minutes before fellow striker Glynn Hurst netted a second-half double to condemn the Silkmen to defeat. Alexander said: "We got well beaten by a good team. We conceded a goal within the first few minutes, which has been the story for us for a few weeks now. "Bury are a good team and they're flying but it's a question of personal pride. I don't want to get beaten by anybody and I thought second half we just didn't do enough."
