Alexander annoyed by postponement

The Gigg Lane pitch was officially deemed unplayable following an 11am pitch inspection by referee Carl Boyeson on Saturday morning, but Alexander was left annoyed that the inevitable verdict was not passed sooner as the wintery weather conditions swept the country.[LNB]"I don't have a problem with the decision to call the game off," Alexander told Macclesfield's official website. "What I do have a problem with is the fact it was left so late in the day.[LNB]"The forecast was bad overnight and I don't think anyone would have had an issue had the decision to call off the game been taken on Friday.[LNB]"I understand why clubs want to leave it until as late as possible. Cash flow is so important for League Two clubs and a game called off presents its challenges.[LNB]"But the common sense thing given the forecast would have been to admit defeat and at least give the fans and players the opportunity to make alternative plans. We'd already set off, that's what I find really frustrating and it is something as a game we need to address."[LNB][LNB]
