Several members of the Luxembourg squad preparing for Wednesday's friendly with Portugal were victims of a robbery at their hotel, the Portuguese police said on Monday.

"I can confirm that a burglary occurred in five rooms used by members of the Luxembourg squad," said an official at the police station in the southern city of Faro.

Luxembourg striker Daniel da Mota, who was born in Portugal, told local media that the items stolen included computers, an iPad, tickets for Wednesday's game and money. The team is currently staying at a hotel in Almancil on the Algarve.

Luxembourg face Portugal on Wednesday in a friendly ahead of the next round of Euro 2012 qualifiers.
