Luton Town caretaker manager Mick Harford has hinted he would be interested in taking over at Kenilworth Road on a full-time basis.
Harford, who had two spells as a player with the Hatters in the 1980s and 90s, was handed the managerial reins until the end of the season by the cash-strapped club's administrator following the departure of former boss Kevin Blackwell on Tuesday.
"I spoke to (administrator) Brendon Guilfoyle briefly and he asked whether I would step in and take over the mantle until the end of the season, which I was delighted to do," he told the club's official website.
"It is an opportunity for me to take over what I believe is a great football club and it is a challenge I'm looking forward to."
When asked about his long-term future at Kenilworth Road, he added: "I understand the question, but I think at the moment it's not about me. It's about the football club and its future.
"It's all about trying to get the team moving forward and to try and bring a bit of stability.
"In the future, whatever happens to me, happens to me. If we get success then I will probably be rewarded, but if we don't then I know what the consequences will be."
