Luton Town manager Mike Newell has been fined after an FA Disciplinary Commission found him guilty of improper conduct.
Newell was fined £6,500 for his comments after the home defeat to QPR in November when he blasted assistant referee Amy Rayner. He also spoke of his annoyance at the role of women match officials in football generally.
Newell was warned and fined £5,000 for his specific comments about Rayner, and told to pay an additional £1,500 for failing to act in the best interests of the game.
He had said of Rayner: "She shouldn't be here. It sounds sexist, but I am sexist.
"We have enough problems with all this politically correct stuff in this country. It's not going to improve the standard of officiating by bringing women into the game.
"What are we going to do when they're all women? Then we'll really be in trouble."
