Newell faces FA probe

The Football Association have confirmed that they will be investigating comments made by Luton Town boss Mike Newell on Saturday slating female match officials.
Newell was furious when his side were not awarded a penalty in the 3-2 defeat to QPR and was quick to turn his ire on assistant referee Amy Rayner.
He said: "I thought we were the better side again. We had the chances before they scored and after they scored, and it should have been more than 2-1 because we had a blatant penalty turned down.
"It was a bad decision from the linesman or should I say lineswoman.
"But she shouldn't be here. It sounds sexist, but I am sexist. We have enough problems with all this politically correct stuff in this country.
"It's not going to improve the standard of officiating by bringing women into the game. What are we going to do when they're all women? Then we'll really be in trouble."
An FA spokesman said on Sunday: "All we can say at the moment is that we will be investigating when we have discovered what was said."
