Newell denies FA charge

Luton Town manager Mike Newell has denied charges of improper conduct and failing to act in the best interests of the game, following comments he made after last month's Championship defeat to QPR.
Newell has requested a personal hearing to explain the comments he made about assistant referee Amy Rayner and the role of women match officials in football generally.
He said of Rayner: "She shouldn't be here. It sounds sexist, but I am sexist.
"We have enough problems with all this politically correct stuff in this country.
"It's not going to improve the standard of officiating by bringing women into the game.
"What are we going to do when they're all women? Then we'll really be in trouble."
