Scott gets Luton out of jail
Scott Rendell was the last-gasp Luton saviour as the Hatters secured a 1-1 draw and a FA Cup first-round replay against their Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Nuneaton.
Rendell popped up six minutes from time to spare promotion-chasing Luton's blushes against a Boro side who are rock-bottom of the Conference table.
Despite the disparity in their league positions Nuneaton looked set to secure the victory thanks to a first-half Tyrell Waite strike but Rendell had other ideas.
Luton had the best of the early exchanges, but it was Nuneaton who took the lead after 19 minutes when Andy Brown teed up Notts County loanee Waite for a tap in.
The Hatters did their best to quickly get themselves level but Nuneaton keeper Ben McNamara repelled attempts from Rendell and Ronnie Henry while midfielder Adam Walker also cleared an Arnaud Mendy effort off the line.
However it was the visitors who finished the half the brightest, Luton stopper Dean Brill saving twice from Waite and Walker.
The Hatters dominated after the break but looked set to endure a frustrating afternoon with Nuneaton skipper Gareth Dean most notably denying Andre Gray with a last-ditch tackle.
However with the clock ticking, Rendell rose highest to meet a Jake Howells cross to break Nuneaton hearts.
