Luton Town's administrator has revealed a deal has been agreed with a consortium headed by Nick Owen to buy the troubled club.
The television presenter and lifelong Hatters fan has made an immediate loan to the cash-strapped club and hopes to complete a takeover by February.
Luton are currently in administration and manager Kevin Blackwell recently confirmed his intention to leave next month.
Blackwell was unhappy that the club's administrators sold captain Chris Coyne to Colchester United and midfielder Dave Edwards to Wolves without his knowledge.
"We are now in a position to assess the sale of the football club, subject to approval, to the Luton Town FC consortium which includes Nick Owen," administrator Brendan Guilfoyle told Sky Sports News.
"I'm certainly hoping this brings an end to the trouble at the club."
