Hatters anger over collapse

Luton Town have hit out at Peterborough United after 'reneging' on a deal to send striker Scott Rendell on loan to Kenilworth Road. Hatters managing director Gary Sweet has taken an angry swipe at the League One club after the promising striker was allowed to perform a U-turn and join Yeovil Town on loan instead of the Hatters. "It's disappointing that a fellow club from the football family agreed terms only to subsequently renege on the deal," he told the club's official website. "It may not be such a crucial blow for us but it has wasted a day which should have been spent "It's fortunate our customary practice is to prepare a contingency plan. "The only issue is whether we can agree terms with another player, complete the paperwork and get approval from the Football League in time for Saturday."
