Luton Town manager Mick Harford revealed his players were disconsolate after they lurched closer to relegation following Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Gillingham.
The Hatters are now ten points adrift of safety after they let Sam Parkin's first-half lead slip to lose at the Priestfield on Tuesday evening.
"It's another defeat and the players are more disappointed than anyone," Harford told the club's official website.
"There has been a lot of times since I have been here when we have had plenty of chances but we only seem to get one goal and we need to be getting two or three.
"All credit to Gillingham. They came at it in the second half and at times we couldn't handle them.
"Some of the defending was excellent but at the crucial times we let ourselves down and we just couldn't seem to clear the ball."
