James Dunne could make Cambridge debut at Luton

Scott Cuthbert is expected to start for Luton when they host Cambridge in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday after being made the club's captain on a permanent basis.

New Luton manager Nathan Jones, who will oversee his first game since his appointment, announced the development on Thursday, having been suitably impressed by the defender who inherited the armband when Stephen McNulty left in October.

Jones has a near fully-fit squad from which to choose, and could make several changes from the team that lost 2-0 at Bristol Rovers on January 2, prior to his appointment.

He is, however, without Sean Long, who returned to parent club Reading the day before Jones' arrival.

Ryan Donaldson is ahead of schedule in his recovery from an ankle problem and could be in contention for Cambridge.

Portsmouth midfielder James Dunne could also play after on Thursday signing a six-month loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Striker Rory Gaffney has joined Bristol Rovers on a permanent deal and so Us boss Shaun Derry must make a change up front, while midfielder Keith Keane has joined Stevenage on loan in a bid to gain match fitness following his groin injury.

Cameron Gayle (hamstring) is out for two more weeks and defender Greg Taylor (ankle) is out for the season.
