Luton luck runs out as Stoke win cup thriller on penalties
Stoke progressed to the third round of the Capital One Cup after beating brave League Two side Luton 8-7 on penalties at Kenilworth Road.
The teams finished locked level at 1-1 after extra-time.
Following 14 successful spot-kicks, home defender Scott Griffiths saw his effort hit the crossbar, while Stoke sub Geoff Cameron made no mistake.
He fired beyond Elliot Justham to earn a trip to Championship Fulham, once managed by Stoke boss Mark Hughes.
