The 33-year-old initially joined the Hatters on loan from MK Dons before signing a permanent deal in January. And manager Mick Harford told the club's official website: "When Kevin Gallen came to this football club he made a massive impression on me and the supporters. "He can see a pass and bring other players into play and that's what he's all about. He's a character in the dressing room and offers us that little bit of experience which he can help pass on to the younger players in the squad. "We've signed him on a one-year contract but my view is that Kevin has got a long-term future at Luton Town and he will be given some coaching responsibilities next season." Luton have released forward trio Sam Parkin, Dean Morgan and Paul McVeigh, defender Sol Davis and goalkeeper Dean Brill, while Drew Talbot has been made available for transfer despite having one year left on his contract.
