Mick Harford's men started the campaign on minus 30 points and were inevitably relegated from the Football League. Bayliss, who spent four seasons with the Hatters between 2001-05, is currently joint manager with Darren Sheridan at Blue Square Premier side Barrow. And he told the Luton Herald & Post: "It will be good going back to Luton. They shouldn't be in this league, I think it's harsh what's happened to them. "You can't start a season on minus 30 points like they did and expect to stay up. I think they've been really hard done by. "But with the players they've got and Mick Harford as manager, Luton have got every chance, more so than most clubs at this level, of going back up at the first attempt. They are a big club and take a lot of travelling fans."
