Livingston head coach John Robertson declared himself at an all-time low after seeing his side lose a third consecutive game, 1-0 at home to Motherwell.
The Lions are heading for the first division next season and Robertson has vowed to make major changes.
He said: "I have never been so depressed in my life, watching the last two matches when you are asking players to prove to the board that they are worth a contract for next year or they are worth keeping for next year.
"You are asking them to prove to the fans that they are not as bad as they look and you are asking them to prove to me they know the basics of the game and they don't, that's the depressing thing.
"I've seen this club being brought up from the second division, I've seen them qualify for Europe, they have won the CIS Cup and you look at this now.
"You look at some of the players and it is just not acceptable. It gives me the chance now to make some changes and bring in my own squad."
