Evans sweating on Russell

Livingston's first team coach Gareth Evans is waiting on fitness news of striker Iain Russell, who has been suffering from a calf injury, before finalising his side to face visitors Dunfermline.

Russell missed out on last Saturday's 2-0 Scottish Cup defeat from Dundee, however his condition has improved and he could face the Pars, although Paul Watson and Jason Talbot remain out with long-term injuries.

Evans said: "We have to start this game a lot better than we did against Dundee when we were two goals down in the first 15 minutes.

"Our away trip to Dunfermline was the lowest point of our season when we deservedly lost 4-0 so we are looking at this game as an opportunity to show that we are a much better side."

Dunfermline striker Andrew Barrowman is available to lead the line as the suspension for the red card he picked against Partick Thistle will be served in the next round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Midfielder Josh Falkingham will also feature against the Lions after he overcame the back injury that saw him substituted in the Pars 1-0 success at Firhill.

East End Park assistant boss Gerry McCabe said: "That was a really good win last week over our promotion rivals but we need to get back to winning ways in the league straight away.

"The last time we played Livingston we put on a very powerful display and won well. It would be terrific to play like that again and pick up another 3 points."
