Xabi Alonso return to Liverpool on the cards

Former Kop idol Xabi Alonso could be coming back to the Premier league with former club Liverpool a possible destination.

Barcelona paper Sport is claiming that the midfielder's contract with Real Madrid runs until 2014, has decided against extending his deal for a further 2 years.

They claim Alonso would be willing to listen to offers from other clubs next summer. The list of clubs chasing his signature would be long with former club Liverpool being among the interested parties.
