Ben Woodburn has been nominated for the European Golden Boy award for 2017.

The 17-year-old has impressed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp this season, earning several first team chances and receiving comparisons, rightly or wrongly, to Steven Gerrard when he became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer in November’s 2-0 victory over Leeds United in the League Cup.

Woodburn is shortlisted alongside Marcus Rashford, Tom Davies, Gabriel Jesus, Kylian Mbappe, Kasper Dolberg, Luca Zidane, Christian Pulisic, Felix Passlack, Ousmane Dembele, Alexander Isak and last season’s winner, Renato Sanchez of Bayern Munich.
