Tottenham are interested in Wigan's combative midfielder Lee Cattermole. He is currently with England Under 21s at the European Championship and has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Sunderland, following a solid season with Wigan. The former Middlesbrough midfielder, 21, was signed by Steve Bruce for £3.5m last July and would command at least double now. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp would like to team him again with Wilson Palacios and give his White Hart Lane side a tougher core. Wigan owner Dave Whelan said last week Cattermole was not for sale and his new manager Roberto Martinez will be keen to keep as many of the club's squad together as possible.
