Who now for Liverpool after Reds pull the plug on Remy move
Loic Remy’s 8.5 million move to Liverpool looks to off after the striker has apparently failed his medical with Liverpool although there has been to comment from the club as of yet. Remy travelled to Boston where Liverpool are currently as part of their tour of the USA to finalise his move to Merseyside but according to sky sources and the Daily Mirror it looks like the move is now off.
Liverpool thought they had got the striker that they had been looking for all summer and it certainly didn’t look like a bad signing on paper after he scored 14 in 27 for Newcastle on loan from QPR last season in which he was a shining light for the North East side last season. Before he came to English football he was also prolific in French football for Marseille scoring 39 in 95 for the French side.
Liverpool certainly need new reinforcements up front after losing last seasons controversial but certainly world class striker Luis Suarez and being left with New sigining Rickie Lambert, Daniel Sturridge, the unproven Samed Yesil and Fabio Borini who was on the verge on signing for sunderland this summer. This strike force does not really look adequate for a team who want to challenge at the top again with Sturridge and Lambert the only two Liverpool fans may consider good enough.
So now the Frenchmans move has fallen through they will now look elsewhere but the question is who are and how many new strikers will they want? There is Edison Cavini who is currently playing for PSG who would certainly fill the fans with excitement but the fee and other clubs wanting the Uruguayan may be a stumbling block. Then there is Wilfred Bony who has been linked with the Anfield Club all summer but nothing seems to have materilsed with the Ivorian who scored 25 goals last year for Swansea. Then there is Divock Origi who burst onto the scene at this years world cup for Belguim and according to some reports like the Daily Star may have already signed for the reds but he would probably be seen as one for the future.
So the question is who should Liverpool bring in now Remy’s move has fallen through? Should they spend all the money they got for Suarez on one big name signing or try and use it to improve the whole squad?
