Werner appointed chairman
Tom Werner is the new chairman of Liverpool Football Club. The Reds' co-owner succeeds Martin Broughton as chairman, although no formal announcement has yet been made. John W Henry remains owner in chief and will take a place on the board. NESV executives David Ginsberg and Michael Gordon are also expected to join the board. Ian Ayre is staying on at Liverpool but it not clear yet if he will retain his place on the board of directors.
