Weather continues to cause havoc

The weather continues to disrupt the sporting programme with several football matches postponed for a second time this morning.

The FA Cup third-round tie between Accrington and Gillingham, rescheduled for Tuesday, was forced off once again as freezing temperatures and snow continue to have an effect.

Meanwhile in Scotland, the Active Nation Scottish Cup fourth round was hit again with five matches scheduled for Tuesday now off. Celtic's trip to Morton, Forfar v St Johnstone, Inverness v Motherwell, Kilmarnock v Falkirk, and Ross County v Inverurie Loco Works all fell by the wayside again after being postponed on Saturday.

They are now set to be played next Monday, when they could be joined by Livingston v Dundee and Albion v Stirling.

The Scottish postponements led to four rearranged Clydesdale Bank Premier League games being called off.

The Scottish Cup takes precedence over the SPL in such cases, meaning Aberdeen v Falkirk, Hamilton v St Mirren, Kilmarnock v Celtic and St Johnstone v Hibernian - all hit by the weather last month - will now not be played next week.

New dates have yet to be announced.
