Walcott on verge of Liverpool switch

England and Arsenal winger, Theo Walcott, could be ready to join the exodus from the Emirates and sign for Liverpool. Walcott, a lifelong Liverpool fan, has only a year left on his current contract and appears to have been unsettled by the departure of Robin van Persie. The 24 year old is also said to be unhappy at having to compete with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his starting place and feels that the time could be right to move on.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is a long time admirer of Walcott and believes that his fast paced game is perfectly suited to the style of play that he hopes to bring to Anfield, Despite the short time left on Walcott's contract, Arsenal are unlikely to let another prized asset go cheaply and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool's American owners will sanction a £15 million bid for a player who they could have for free next summer.
