Liverpool team 460[LNB]TEN YEARS is a long-time in any walk of life, but in football it can feel like a lifetime.[LNB]To prove a point, ten years ago this week Liverpool were preparing for a visit to Old Trafford, a ground they had not won at for a decade. They were doing so on the back of a shock home defeat to Ipswich Town, for whom Marcus Stewart was the league's in-form striker. Gerard Houllier's men were sixth in the Premier League table, beneath George Burley's men, as well as Peter Taylor's Leicester City and Peter Reid's Sunderland. Sir Alex Ferguson's men were six points clear at the top of a league which also contained the likes of Bradford City and Southampton.[LNB]Of course we all know what happened next. Danny Murphy's free-kick at the Stretford End gave Houllier's men victory, and they would finish the season with an unprecedented 'treble' of trophies. The names of that famous 2000/01 side, and the memories they provided, will linger for a long time to come.[LNB]It might have been a decade of well-publicised lows, but Reds fans have had plenty to savour over the past decade. If the 1990s signalled the end of the club's most dominant era and an unwelcome spell in the wilderness, the 2000s have seen them begin the long, slow road back towards the perch that Ferguson and United once gazed longingly at. Ten trophies in ten years tells its own story.[LNB]The ECHO takes a look at the players who have worn the Red shirt over the past ten years, and invites you to select your best XI from the talent available.[LNB]Goalkeepers >>>>>>
