BLOEMFONTEIN, South Africa (AFP) - Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina insists David Villa is focused on helping Spain win the Confederations Cup despite the transfer saga surrounding him. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez on Thursday declared that Villa's move to the club was only "a matter of time", but his agent was quoted as saying on Friday that Valencia had now decided they would not sell him. Reina said that while Villa was concerned about his future, the ongoing speculation, which has also seen him linked to Barcelona and Manchester United, had not affected his committment to the national team. "He's 100 percent at ease, he's totally committed to the national team," Reina, one of Villa's closest friends, told a press conference here ahead of Spain's match against hosts South Africa on Saturday. "Of course he is concerned about his future but he is still playing great matches." Spanish media reported on Friday that Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo had met with Valencia president Manuel Llorente to discuss the move to Madrid but instead the club told him the player would not be sold. Asked if Villa had been informed about the developments, Reina said it was all speculation. "You say someone can't be transferred and 10 hours later they can be transferred," he said. "He is just looking for the best possible solution for himself, as a person."
