Barnsley manager Simon Davey has confirmed that the Tykes have made an improved bid for Liverpool winger Adam Hammill. The 21-year-old spent the final three months of last season on loan at Oakwell and impressed with some high-energy performances on the right and is nearing a move to Oakwell. Davey said: "We have been in conversation with Liverpool again and we have made a bid for a permanent deal for Adam. "Hopefully that will be a successful one and we can get Adam into the club as soon as possible. "There have been positive noises coming from Anfield and I do not think that we are far apart in our valuations."
