Trophy target for Torres

Fernando Torres has vowed to add a trophy next season to the new contract he has signed with Liverpool. The Spain international, who also married his childhood sweetheart this week, revealed his objective for the next campaign on his personal website on Friday. His new contract, is in effect, a replacement for the one he signed on joining the club in 2007. His wages have risen to almost the same level as club captain Steven Gerrard, around £100,000 a week, and the deal ties him to the club until 2013. However, the one difference to the previous contract is that there is now an option for one more year, taking Torres to 2014, when he would be 30. Torres has taken time out from preparing for Spain's Confederation Cup quest in South Africa next month. He said on his website, www.fernando9torres.com: "I want to remain here (at Anfield). Since arriving at Liverpool I feel that there is a bond and commitment. We listened to the club's offer, which came on the back of two seasons of positive work. My objective now is to win a trophy with Liverpool next season."
