Transfer News - Liverpool move for Carlton Cole; Chu-Young Park to Chelsea

Published: 25 Aug 2010 - 07:18:25

Liverpool have tabled a bid for West Ham striker Carlton Cole, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Following their resounding defeat at Manchester City on Monday, Roy Hodgson was authorised to make a £6 million up-front payment for the England striker - who has also been linked to Sunderland and Stoke.

The deal would see West Ham paid further monies dependent on Cole's appearances at Liverpool.

Hammers boss Avram Grant may be keen to take the deal, to free up some much-needed cash before the transfer window closes on August 31.
