James Milner has had some decisions to make as he becomes a free-agent on July 1st with several clubs more than interested to persuade the England midfielder to join them in the summer. The crux of the choice has been about if his career is best served at Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal and it seems from reports in the Echo that Milner has made that decision.

The 29-year-old has been offered a big-money deal to extend his stay at City but the player is clearly concerned that he could find games hard to come by and instead seems to have sided with a role at Liverpool where he could play a role similar to Gerrard. Milner would represent a real boost for the Reds as they seek to fill the void left by Gerrard as well as strengthen their attack which has been exposed by injuries and the poor form of Balotelli. As well as Milner, Liverpool are hoping to acquire Danny Ings from Burnley with compensation being the only stumbling block as the player already indicating he will leave when his deal expires.

Milner has joined up with the England setup today ahead of friendlies with Slovenia and the Republic of Ireland to add further to his 53 caps. The midfielder started his career at Leeds United where he played as a Youth, moving to Newcastke United and Aston Villa before joining Manchester City where he has made 147 league appearances and scored 13 league goals.

The report reveals that Liverpool are looking to do business quickly with Milner so they can move on to other targets.
