Transfer News: Marveaux set for Liverpool; Nani eyes Manchester United exit

With Joe Cole, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt failing to catch the eye on the flanks for Liverpool this season, Kenny Dalglish is eyeing up at least one natural winger to provide recent signing Andy Carroll with the service he thrives upon.

Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli has been scouting fellow Frenchman Sylvain Marveaux, currently Rennes' longest serving player.

The former U21 international can play wide on the left or as an attacking midfielder through the middle and is available on a free transfer when his contract runs out at the end of June. It is expected he will put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Anfield in early July.

Rumours are spreading that in-form winger Nani is looking to leave Manchester United this summer.

The Portuguese star was keen on negotiating a new deal for himself after his most productive 12 months in a United shirt but the club's reluctance to open talks has left the former Sporting Lisbon man eyeing up a new challenge abroad.

He has reportedly told close friends that he fancies a move to Italy, with Juventus said to be keen on securing his services.

Sunderland will make a new £9 million bid for Wigan star Charles N'Zogbia this summer.

Newcastle and Blackpool will battle it out for Southampton winger Jason Puncheon who is currently on loan at Bloomfield Road.

Blackburn are interested in signing Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner if they retain their Premier League status.

Leicester are hopeful of signing Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara on loan for the rest of the season.
