With it looking increasingly likely that Kenny Dalglish will take the reins at Liverpool on a permanent basis, the club have begun putting together a list of potential transfer targets for this summer.

While Gary Cahill and Ashley Young are both wanted at Anfield, an even younger Englishman could soon be pulling on a red shirt if Daglish and Director of Football, Damien Comolli, get their way.

Ipswich youngster Connor Wickham is the focus of their attention after some seriously impressive performances this season in the Championship. The England U21 star recently signed a new contract at Portman Road and could cost up to £15 million.

Despite being heavily linked with him prior to his move to Shaktar Donetsk, Manchester United look certain to rekindle their interest in Brazilian attacker Douglas Costa this summer.

The attacking midfielder has been in superb form for the Ukrainian giants this season and has attracted the attention of a number of Europe's top clubs.

His value has rocketed as a result but it is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to part with up to £20m for his services as he looks to freshen up his squad in time for next season.

Inter Milan could attempt to hijack a deal for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

Manchester United failed in their attempt to sign Raul last summer.

Aston Villa and Sunderland are both interested in signing Wigan keeper Chris Kirkland when the transfer window reopens.
