Free agent Cole has been linked to Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United, but it looks as though Liverpool will get their man.

The Sun reports Cole has been offered a £90,000/week, three-year deal, which would net the England midfielder £13 million in total.

Talks are at an advanced stage, with Liverpool apparently keen to tie up the deal before the end of the week.

Meanwhile, the BBC reports that Martin Jol will be appointed Fulham manager before the end of the week.

Jol is currently coach at Ajax, but looks set to leave the Dutch club for another shot in the Premier League - following his stint at Spurs from 2004 to 2007.

He will replace Roy Hodgson, who left Craven Cottage for Anfield in July.
