16 Carragher and Skrtel have a nasty clash of heads as they look to clear the ball away from danger. Both players are receiving treatment and Carragher will have to leave the field as he is bleeding. Looks like stitches or a bandage will be required.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is passed fit for this afternoon's Premier League opener at Tottenham. The England midfielder recovers from a groin problem, while both Jamie Carragher (ankle) and Martin Skrtel (hamstring) also start despite injury worries. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp opts for Robbie Keane, against his old club, and Jermain Defoe, on target for England in Amsterdam, to lead the home side's attack. Summer signing Peter Crouch has to make do with a place on the bench, waiting for a chance to face one of his former teams. Sebastien Bassong makes his debut following an £8million move from Newcastle, alongside Spurs skipper Ledley King in defence.
