Torres hungry for silverware

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is hopeful this season will end his search for silverware at Anfield. The Spain international signed for the Reds from Atletico Madrid in 2007 for around £26.5million and has since scored an impressive total of 38 Premier League goals. However, Torres has yet to taste team glory on Merseyside, with the club's last trophy coming in the 2006 FA Cup final. But the clinical forward is confident this campaign could see Rafa Benitez's side victorious, with a first league title since 1990 much coveted having come so close last term. He said "Two years without a trophy is a long time for a club like Liverpool, but we believe we can do it this year. "It won't be easy because there are big challenges ahead but we think we can win. "Maybe this season will be more important because we have a fantastic squad and we can play better than last season. "I came to Liverpool to win trophies. But I am sure that this time we can win the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League or a big trophy like that."
