Top 10: Greatest FA Cup finals - 10 - Wimbledon 1 Liverpool 0 - 1988

The 1988 final pitted two complete opposites against each other and provided one of the greatest shocks in the history of the competition.

Unfashionable and unfancied Wimbledon went up against the newly-crowned league champions and the world dominant Liverpool.

Wimbledon took the lead shortly before half-time, when Dennis Wise's free kick was turned in from the head of Lawrie Sanchez.

Liverpool went on to create a number of big chances and had a Peter Beardsley goal disallowed and a John Aldridge penalty saved by Dave Beasant.

The South London club held on and secured the only trophy in their history, before dissolving in 2004.
