Tom Hicks Jnr [LNB]THE furore over the departure of director Tom Hicks Jnr continued today with Liverpool fans delighted to see him flee the club.[LNB]The Dallas-based businessman sensationally quit his role at Liverpool FC after sending abusive e-mails to a Reds fan.[LNB]The Texan's resignation was announced in a short club statement followed by his full public apology five hours later.[LNB]He said: 'I have great respect for Liverpool Football Club, especially the club's supporters.[LNB]'I apologise for my mistake and I am very sorry for my harmful words. I do not want my actions to take away from the club's future.'[LNB]Fans were left stunned when Stephen Horner shared copies of e-mails he received from Hicks Jnr. We told yesterday how Mr Horner emailed the director an ECHO article which discussed the challenges facing manager Rafa Benitez and his men.[LNB]Hicks Jnr - son of Liverpool FC co-owner Tom Hicks Senior - responded almost immediately with a single word: 'Idiot'.[LNB]Mr Horner was further appalled when the Texan replied again almost ten minutes later.[LNB]This time he copied senior club officials into his foul retort.[LNB]He wrote: 'B*** me f*** face. Go to hell. I'm sick of you.'[LNB]Fans today expressed their disappointment that Hicks Jnr used such rude and belittling language to a club supporter.[LNB]Les Lawson, secretary of the official Liverpool Supporters Club, said: 'He had no choice but to resign. You can't abuse the people who are the lifeblood of the club you are supposed to run.[LNB]'He showed a total lack of respect to this lad and to Liverpool supporters in general.'
