The Jury: Liverpool FC fans give their view on the capitulation at Stoke

DAMIAN KAVANAGH, Skelmersdale IT'S back to square one for after seven days that highlighted the good, the bad and the ugly; fantastic against Chelsea but after an excellent start we were hanging on at Wigan and then were outfought at Stoke. Apart from in goal, there are question marks in all areas of the pitch and unless we get a player or two in January we'll continue to struggle. Everybody knows we need another striker but just as crucial is our lack of genuine wide midfield men with pace and who can stretch the opposition. Every Red I know wants us to press teams higher up the field. The players share the blame but Roy should be getting better from them as a team by now. While we wait for the transfer window I'd go for a midfield of Johnson, Meireles, Gerrard and Cole with Dirk up front alongside El Niño. In defence its time for Kelly to get a run in the side but time is running out for Konchesky to prove he should keep his place when Aurelio or Agger return from injury. LISA SOUTHERN, Little Neston IT'S going to be a bleak midwinter for Liverpool fans. With no decent funds available till the summer and being realistic about the squad, the rest of the season could be a case of damage limitation for the Reds. With just five points out of 21 picked up away from home and looking at our performances against Wigan and Stoke, this negative style of play is simply not an option. Didn't we learn anything from last season? We are lacking in firepower and pace in midfield, there's no support for Torres, we play too narrow, are crying out for width and it still takes too long to build an attack. We need to find some of the fighting spirit and positivity we showed against Chelsea. Admittedly we are only three points off fifth place and a convincing win against West Ham may lift the teams malaise but it is only papering over the cracks.
