THE INSIDER: Jacobsen to join Burnley, Eto'o move remains in the balance and Blackburn boss Allardyc
Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the biggest (and littlest) transfer moves this summer. His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening Don't miss yo Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline.e. ............................................................................................................ Lars Jacobsen Everton to Burnley - The Insider says: 3/5 The Dane (right) is eager to stay in the Premier League and had hoped to sign a fresh one-year deal with Everton but the offer to play more games at Burnley is appealing. Everton also maintain an interest in Sheffield United's Kyle Naughton, although Aston Villa are expected to provide stiff competition. Samuel Eto'o Barcelona to Manchester City - The Insider says: 3/5 Problems surrounding Barcelona's pursuit of a replacement for Eto'o have prompted a re-assessment of their thinking. David Villa's future at Valencia remains vague and Inter Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic is asking exhorbitant wages. Eto'o's bargaining with Manchester City has also been viewed as a way of bringing Inter to the table for his services but only City can match his wage demands. Xabi Alonso Liverpool to Chelsea - The Insider says: 1/5 Liverpool may sell Javier Mascherano to Barcelona or Real Madrid but they can't allow Xabi Alonso to go too — especially to rivals such as Chelsea. Chelsea's interest is definite and they have the money to match Liverpool's £25m valuation but manager Rafa Benitez will block it. Problems may occur though if Barcelona or Madrid fail to come up with the money required for Mascherano whose wife Fernanda does not want to return to England. Marc Janko Red Bull Salzburg to Blackburn - The Insider says: 2/5 The Austria international is back on the agenda for Sam Allardyce after the sale of Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City. An approach for Kevin Davies may be troublesome with the 32-year-old comfortable at Bolton and being promised new signings to improve the squad next season. Janko has been watched constantly but there are still doubts he can handle the Premier League after playing in Austria. Tottenham have watched him. Celtic and Fulham are also interested. Fernando Morientes Valencia to Fulham - The Insider says: 1/5 The last sight of Morientes in England was a pitiful one as he looked a player devoid of confidence and a shadow of the threat he had become at Real Madrid and Monaco. Liverpool offloaded him back to Spain and he has now been handed a free transfer. His experience is undoubted and his name will certainly make clubs think about a gamble but question marks remain over how big an impact he could have.
