Texas hearing adjourned until Friday

A Texas court case involving Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has been adjourned until Friday, when the ownership saga could finally be concluded.[LNB] The club moved to the brink of being taken over by New England Sports Ventures (NESV) when a High Court judge in London dismissed a United States-based injunction preventing the sale of the club.[LNB]However, lawyers for co-owner Tom Hicks immediately went back to the 160th District Court in Dallas for another hearing with Judge Jim Jordan only for that to be adjourned without resolution.[LNB]The legal team will go back at 7am local time (1pm BST) - just three hours before the deadline set by the High Court for the American's restraining order to be removed - when it is expected a ruling will be made.[LNB]That hearing in Dallas was adjourned, delaying the process even further.[LNB]Prior to that adjournment, Liverpool issued a statement on behalf of Broughton, Purslow and Ayre.[LNB]"The independent directors of Liverpool Football Club are delighted with the verdict of Mr Justice Floyd in the High Court this afternoon which now requires Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett to withdraw their Texas restraining order by 4pm tomorrow," the statement said.[LNB]"We are glad to have taken another important step towards completing the sale process."[LNB]
