Goalkeeper - Robert Green, West Ham United

In a game where his side looked like they were the ones at the right end of the table, Green showed his ability to keep out a Tottenham side full of attacking class.

The England stopper pulled off three outstanding saves from Jermaine Jenas, Rafael Van Der Vaart and Luka Modric to finally make the back pages for the right reasons.

Right Back - Michel Salgado, Blackburn

The Spanish veteran put in an impressive display as his side stole a late victory in a Lancashire derby.

As the home side desperately pushed for a winner, the former Real Madrid man was there to deny them.

Centre Back - Vincent Kompany, Manchester City

In a makeshift home defence, Kompany shone alongside defensive partner Kolo Toure.

The Belgian was kept busy by Chelsea, but stood firm as the home side picked up all three points.

Centre Back - Matthew Upson, West Ham United

Widely criticised after his World Cup display, Upson played an integral role as the Hammers picked up their first league win of the season.

Although he wasn't tested as much as expected, he performed his role with a minimum of fuss.

Left Back - Nicky Shorey, West Bromwich Albion

After becoming a forgotten man at Aston Villa, Shorey showed what he can do at the Emirates.

He produced a tireless performance as he frustrated the hosts, both defensively and going forward, in the weekend's shock result.

Right-midfield - Nani, Manchester United

Nani again displayed his undoubted class by playing a part in both of United's goals.

First, the Portuguese winger tormented the Bolton defence with a mazy run and finish before an exquisite free-kick delivery found Michael Owen as the Red Devils went away with a point.

Central-midfield - Yaya Toure, Manchester City

Part of the brotherly double act for the Citizens, the younger Toure once again proved his rather considerable worth.

The giant midfielder kept the formidable Blues midfield quiet in a commanding display.

Central-midfield - Steven Gerrard, Liverpool

Once again, it was a case of cometh the hour, cometh the man as Gerrard salvaged a point for the Reds.

The inspirational skipper's goal will only serve to paper over the cracks in what is a crumbling Liverpool side.

Left-midfield - Peter Odemwingie, West Bromwich Albion

In what is rapidly looking like the most inspired signing of Roberto Di Matteo's managerial career, Odemwingie proved that the Baggies aren't just going to be walked over by the big boys.

In an enterprising display, the Nigerian gave Arsenal a torrid time in the attacking third and did his fair share of defensive work, as the visitors held on for a famous victory.

Striker - Darren Bent, Sunderland

Fans of Liverpool must be absolutely sick of seeing Darren Bent.

After he was on the lucky end of last season's 'beach-ball gate', he netted twice to put further pressure on Roy Hodgson as the home side produced another uninspiring display.

Striker - Carlos Tevez, Manchester City

After Roberto Mancini wrote off their title hopes before kick-off, Tevez promptly showed everyone that City are genuine contenders.

The Argentine skipper netted the winner, leaving Ashley Cole and John Terry looking bemused.
