Suarez To Become Liverpool's Greatest Ever No. 7 In A New Record Deal

Luis Suarez has already etched himself into Liverpool’s history books with his treble of hat-tricks against Norwich earlier this week, but is this just the beginning of him becoming their greatest ever No.7? Even better than legends such as King Kenny, Keegan and Beardsley? If he remains on Merseyside for a few more years, continues with his blistering form and Liverpool become the force they once were again, well, it would be difficult to argue against Suarez dethroning King Kenny and Co. as the greatest ever.

Lots of ‘ifs’ at the moment but with Liverpool’s obvious progression this season under Brendan Rodgers, the future for the Reds is looking very promising. If Liverpool is going to seriously challenge for the title, a superstar no. 7 is a must and that’s exactly what they have.

The speculation will continue to float around Suarez’s ‘imminent’ departure from Anfield. The hot-headed Uruguayan maestro will never be far from the headlines in the coming months again as the January window opens up and the World Cup looms.

Newspapers know that Suarez stories will attract attention and even though he did say he wanted to leave Liverpool in the summer, where is he now? On top of the goal scoring chart with a team that looks leaps and bounds better than last season. The Anfield faithful love him and the feeling is mutual.

There is no way that Suarez will leave Liverpool in January. He is having too much fun ripping up defenses in the Premiership at the moment. The big test for Suarez was his return to the pitch after the ‘biting scandal’ and how he would react. Well, we all know how that materialized.

It seems inevitable that a controversial, yet exceptional figure like Suarez is destined to remain in the Liverpool No.7 shirt for years to come. His wife and two kids (aged 3 and just over 2 months) may just have to accept becoming adopted Scousers.

Amid current speculation that Manchester City and Chelsea are ready to try and poach Suarez from Liverpool, Rodgers has stated that he will fight ‘tooth and nail’ to keep him and owner, John Henry has promised to provide the funds to ensure Suarez remains at Anfield for years to come.

A new lucrative multi-million pound contract is being formulated by Liverpool and it should be enough to keep him firing in goal after goal for the Reds for a few more seasons at the very least.
