Crocked Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard could be set to miss the rest of the season. [LNB]The England star underwent surgery on his troublesome groin at the beginning of March, and he was touted for an imminent first-team return. [LNB]The 30-year-old midfielder will also a face a race to be fit for England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland on June 4, with Liverpool's medical team fearing he could be sidelined for up to 8 weeks. [LNB]'Steven was training yesterday, ready to be available for today,' Kenny Dalglish said after Liverpool's 2-1 defeat at West Brom. [LNB] Out of action: Gerrard has already missed four games since his operation at the beginning of March [LNB]'Then he innocuously tried to turn with the ball and he felt a sharp pain. 'It is the same area of his groin but not the same thing. We will get him assessed and at the end of the week we will know better.'[LNB] Although Gerrard is desperate to play a part in Liverpool's remaining eight games of the season, it's unlikely the club will risk him with a slim hope of qualifying for the Champions League the only thing to play for in the run-in.
