Steven Gerrard house burglar has sentence appeal rejected by judges

Alex Curran and Steven Gerrard[LNB]A BURGLAR who took part in a violent smash and grab raid on the home of Liverpool FC captain  Steven Gerrard "richly deserved" his tough jail term, top judges have ruled.[LNB]Martin John Wilson, 23 - one of a gang of thieves who smashed their way into Gerrard's  mansion whilst he was away in France playing in the Champions League, just before Christmas  2007 - was told his sentence challenge was "completely unarguable".[LNB]Gerrard's wife Alex Curran confronted the gang, who demanded she hand over  jewellery and the contents of a safe or else they would "take her kids".[LNB]Wilson, of Hollowcroft, Stockbridge Village, Merseyside, pleaded guilty to the burglary at  Liverpool Crown Court and was jailed for seven years four months on June 7 this year.[LNB]Today he asked Mr Justice Silber and Mrs Justice Sharp, sitting in London's Criminal Appeal  Court, to cut that term, claiming he was treated too harshly.[LNB]The court heard that the burglary took place on December 11 2007 as Gerrard, 30, led  Liverpool to victory in a Champions League game against Marseille.[LNB]Alex Curran had remained at the home on Merseyside, with their two young children,  Lilly-Ella and Lexie and their nanny, Lyndsey Johnston.
