Steven Gerrard: Forget management - I've got four or five years left at the top

Steven Gerrard has ruled out the prospect of management for now, insisting he has at least another four or five years left at the top yet.[LNB]The Liverpool captain has been buoyed by the return of Kop legend Kenny Dalglish this month and hailed the appointment of former Chelsea and West Ham No 2 Steve Clarke as new first-team coach.[LNB]Both players enjoyed celebrated careers before turning their attention to coaching careers but the 30-year-old England international remains focused on staying for as long as he can on the pitch.[LNB] Not done yet: Steven Gerrard believes he can go on for four or five more years[LNB]'It's not my main priority or focus at the moment, I still think that's a long way off,' Gerrard told LFC Weekly.[LNB]'I believe I can play football for another four or five years.[LNB]'But I do sometimes think about what I'm going to do when I finish playing and I would like to stay involved in some capacity, whether that's on the media side or in the dugout we'll have to wait and see[LNB]'I will certainly try to get my coaching qualifications at some point.'[LNB] Dream team: Gerrard believes Dalglish and Clarke can inspire Liverpool's upturn in the league[LNB]Liverpool are struggling in the Barclays Premier League this season in 13th place just four points above the drop zone. But Gerrard is confident that Daglish's return and Clarke's arrival will soon coincide will a reverse in fortunes and the Reds will quickly climb the table.[LNB]'I think he's a great appointment,' added Gerrard, speaking about Clarke.[LNB] 'From what I've seen he's supported some fantastic managers in his career. He played at the top level and has vast experience in the game.[LNB] Plenty to ponder: Gerrard would like to stay in football after he retires from playing but is unsure yet over which direction he will take[LNB]'It's early days yet but the training sessions have been good. If he can come in and help us tighten up defensively and help us improve going forward he'll be a fantastic addition to the coaching staff.[LNB]'It's exciting to see how his relationship will work with Kenny. Hopefully the pair of them, along with Sammy Lee, can help guide us up the league.[LNB]'Between them that trio have plenty of experience and should make a very good coaching team.'[LNB]  Long live the King!
