Steve Bruce: 'We need to bring in video replays'

Steve Bruce made fresh calls for the introduction of video technology after Sunday's penalty, which Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher admitted should not have been awarded. [LNB]Bruce said: 'We knew immediately it was outside the box. Myself and Martin Atkinson (the fourth official) saw the replay within five seconds. If we can do that then surely there is no reason, with the technology we have available, why it cannot be used for contentious decisions like this. [LNB]'The ref gave it correctly originally and I told him he was correct. He was 10 yards away and even stood where the free-kick should have been and where the marks on the grass were. But then he listened to the assistant and he has made a blatant error.'
