Spain risk row with Liverpool over Fernando Torres

Benitez has carefully nursed Torres' return following a hamstring injury amid a warning that he is not yet fully fit. "It is obvious he is not ready, that can be seen when he plays," said Benitez.[LNB] "Every day I see him, sometimes he appears to be at his best and at other times not."[LNB]Torres, though, wants to be involved and Del Bosque appears confident that he can make a contribution. [LNB]"I can't say how many minutes he will play," he said. "Besides, it might be good for Fernando Torres to play a lot of minutes so that he goes back to Liverpool in better shape. [LNB]"I am not trying to play down the conflict with Rafa Benítez. There has been no conflict. Our relationship is perfectly correct."[LNB]Del Bosque believes that the increase of Spanish players in the Premier League has contributed to the form of the national team and regards the match as a clash of the two best international sides in Europe. [LNB]"Fabio Capello has made England into England once again," he said. [LNB]For both Capello and David Beckham, it will also be a first match in Spain since they both left Real Madrid in 2007. [LNB] "I think Beckham's decision to come back to Europe was exactly right if he wants to continue with England," said Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas. [LNB] "He has character and personality and is very important in the dressing room. Fabio Capello brings a new atmosphere to his teams. He really imposed discipline on the dressing room."[LNB]It is England's first match in Spain since spectators in Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium greeted players with monkey chants during a friendly in 2004 yet Spanish players were not permitted to respond to questions regarding the issue.
