NEW Liverpool centre-back Sotirios Kyrgiakos is on a mission to establish himself as an Anfield regular. The Greek international was signed for £1.5million from AEK Athens to provide defensive cover. When Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger are fit, the new boy is likely to find himself down the pecking order but he intends to give boss Rafa Benitez a selection dilemma. 'This is a huge opportunity for me,' he said. 'When I found out Liverpool wanted me I didn't have to think about it at all. 'I'm 30 now so it's a fantastic chance for me to join a club like Liverpool. I want to establish myself as a starting player and I hope to help the club achieve the goals it has already set. 'I believe I am at the best age for me to take on this challenge because of the experience I now have. 'I'll try to do my best and then it will be the manager's decision.' Kyrgiakos, who has signed a two-year deal and will wear number 16, believes his 18-month spell with Rangers will prove to be invaluable as he adapts to the demands of the Premier League.
